Tone Radio’s 24 hour takeover for CASPA

18 June 2017 News

On Monday 19th June from 10am, Tone Radio will be taken over by a 24 hour radiothon raising money for Children on the Autistic Spectrum Parents Association (CASPA).

London Calling 24 hour takeover

Frank Day, host of London Calling, will bring a days special, slightly longer edition! In usual London Calling format, it will be inviting up to 20 guest presenters on with well-known features such as the Northern Number, Song From The South and Three With A Theme.

The radiothon should see appearances from Tone’s schedule such as Chloe Shakesby (Twist N Shout), Chris Bowen (The Monday Night Rock Show) and Matt Wester (Matt & Ben), as well as guests from Frank’s previous shows and new voices.

Charlotte, of Frank’s original show ‘North vs South’ is also expected to appear on the Monday lunchtime.

Frank is both excited and anxious for what the 24 hours will bring. He says “to be honest, I’ve always wanted to try a 24 hour stint on radio. I heard about the Radio 1 session for Comic Relief and thought “If Scott Mills can do it, why can’t I?”

“I wanted to get as many of my old co-hosts from London Calling back on for the final show to say cheerio, and wondered how on earth I’d fit everyone in one show, so I thought “Let’s just make it a bit longer…”. Then I opened it up to some more people from my course and of course the Tone folks who are all an absolute wonder.”

“I’m looking for sponsorship for it because CASPA holds a very special place in my heart. They help young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and helped me immensely after my diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome. I was a member for seven years and still keep in touch and volunteer at some of their workshops to give something back to them.”

You can listen to the entire 24 Hours on our player, TuneIn or watch us. You can donate on Virgin Money Giving.
