The Tone Radio Chart Show took a turn today after Friday’s worldwide cyber attacks involving ransomware.

Organisations around the world were hit by cyber attacks last Friday, including NHS and a Nissan factory in Sunderland, and secure data held to ransomware.

The attackers were demanding payment in bitcoin.

Tone Radio took a technical precaution meaning Tone played limited songs throughout Monday and Tuesday, but were still counted as individual plays.

The chart is based on the most played songs on Tone,
which usually consists on A & B list music  – Top 40 and new music.

However, local Gloucestershire band, Four Dead Crows, made two appearances in the Tone Radio Chart, with their track ‘Destitute Blues’ entering at No.1. The unsigned four-piece released a live version of the track on their x in January 2015. Another release ‘The Mirror Lies’ appeared at No.19 ahead of previous No.1 Disciples with On My Mind.

The Top 10 consisted on 8 new entries including Thin Lizzy’s ‘Boys Are Back In Town’, The Killers ‘Just Another Girl’ and Kasabian’s ‘Eez-eh’. This comes after entries in recent weeks from DJ Khaled’s ‘I’m The One’ and ZAYN’s ‘Still Got Time’.

Last week, Paramore’s ‘Hard Times’ made a breakthrough to the top spot and rock isn’t a rare appearance on the chart! We support local acts both on air and at events – email music@toneradio.co.uk for more information.

The Tone Radio Chart is hosted by Matt Wester from 3.30pm every Wednesday. You can view the full Top 20 here.
